New legal provisions open up the possibility of foreign investors who enter the country regularly (v.g. holders of valid Schengen Visas, or beneficiaries of Visa exemption) of applying for a residence permit for pursuing investment activities by transferring capital, creating jobs or acquiring real estate.
D9 Application Requirements
1. Open account, and purchase fund
The applicant must be at least 18 years old
Provide Certificate of No Criminal Conviction
Provide support documents of source of funds, including but not limited to: Work and Income Certificate, Bank Statement, etc.
2. Apply for Residency
The applicant must be at least 18 years old
Provide Certificate of No Criminal
Conviction Completion of 500,000 Euros Investment Fund
3. Residency Renewal
Maintain the eligible investment
Provide Certificate of No Criminal Conviction
Accumulated 14 days of residence in Portugal every 2 years
